Luke Petersen - Bass / Vox

About Luke

THE BAND CALLS LUKE PETERSEN THE QUIET ONE. BUT HE DOESN’T NEED TO SAY MUCH; HIS PLAYING SPEAKS VOLUMES. INSTEAD OF TALKING LUKE IS USUALLY DEEP IN HIS HEAD FINDING THE GROOVE THAT PROPELS THE BAND’S MUSIC. “I FEEL MUSIC IS A GREAT FORM OF COMMUNICATION, AND IN COMMUNICATION IF YOU’RE TALKING YOUR NOT LISTENING.” THERE IS A SPECIAL GROOVE THAT MUSIC HAS THAT CONNECTS US TO IT AND I FEEL WHEN I LISTEN I CAN FIND THAT GROOVE.” GROOVE LUKE DOES, BUT THAT’S WHAT WOULD YOU EXPECT FROM A GUY WHO BORN IN THE MUSIC RICH HERITAGE THAT IS SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN. “YOU LEARNED TO PLAY AND YOU LEARNED TO PLAY WELL OR YOU JUST DIDN’T GIG. I REMEMBER PRACTICING THRU THE WINTERS TO BE READY FOR HOUSE PARTIES IN THE SUMMER. I WAS ALL OF ABOUT 13 AT THE TIME.” PRACTICING THAT MUCH PAID OFF AND HE EVENTUALLY GOT THE GIG HE WANTED. AS HE WORKED HIS WAY THRU THE BLUES SCENE PLAYING EVERY CLUB THROUGHOUT THE CENTRAL UNITED STATES LUKE SAYS HE FELT SOMETHING IN LINCOLN, NE, SO HE DECIDED TO STAY THERE. “I JUST FELT I NEEDED TO BE THERE, I WASN’T SURE EXACTLY WHY BUT FELT I NEEDED TO GIVE IT A SHOT AND SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN, THERE WASN’T A REASON, JUST A FEELING.” AND BECAUSE OF THAT FEELING, THE QUIET ONE WOULD ONE DAY MEET ONE YOUNG GUNNAR MOLTON AND THE REST, AS THEY SAY, IS MUSIC HISTORY.
